Deep Root Feeding
“The state of being free from illness and injury”
In New England, nutrient deficiencies are a particular danger to the health of your trees. Leaves are your tree’s natural nutrient source often become detached, in consequence the trees on your property will be forced to compete with turf and other vegetation for remaining nutrients and water. This combined with stress from compacted soils, drought, and root space infringement leads to health problems.
White Birch Landscapes Inc. utilizes an EPA aproved liquid injection process to manage the nutrients needed to feed your trees. The action of injecting fertilizer into the ground under pressure yields many advantages. Not only does this process replenish the depleted soil with needed nutrient components, it also disperses and aerates compacted soil, allowing water and oxygen to reach the root hairs where absorption takes place.
Winter Moth/Insect control
Winter moth larvae hatch in early spring and immediately begin devouring leaves and fruit. The larvae skeletonize leaves and feed on the newly swelling buds of their host trees. In cases where they attack fruit trees, harvests will be greatly diminished. Depending on the tree type and its health, defoliation and repeated defoliation can severely stress a tree, or even kill it within just a few years. Defoliation also puts trees at risk for secondary pests and diseases. We are proactive on diagnosing and treating for winter moth.
Signs of Winter Moth Infestation
In early spring, inchworms may be seen inside leaf clusters and buds during the day; at night they can be seen on the outside of leaves
Wingless moths on tree trunks October – January
Devastated flower buds
Skeletonized leaves
Early dropping of petals from fruit trees
